April 22, 2007 - 1st Annual Shrinkwrap recycling program.
New Hampshire Recreational Boater Association along with the NH Marine Trade Association is having our 1st Annual Shrinkwrap Recycling Program. And it just happens to be on Earth Day!!!!

Rules
1. The shrinkwrap must be clean and dry
2. All vents, door and stickers must be removed
3. The belly band must be removed
4. The shrinkwrap must be bound with either a shrinkwrap strip or with shrinkwrap tape. Ropes, twine etc are not acceptable.
5. Since there is a lot of handling involved, the packets must not be too large that a single individual can not lift or maneuver them.


March 20, 2007 - The Transportaion committee has retained HB847.
This will likely pave way to 2 pilot speed zones on Winnipesaukee. Check back here for details once they are released.

Fall, 2006 - HB847 a new bill has been introduced for a state wide 45mph/day and 25mph/night.
A violation would be attached to your NH drivers record.

Summer, 2006 - Pick up your Weirs Times Boating Guide.
NHRBA provided a great article on boating safety tips.

April 20, 2006 - Senate approves House Bill 1463.
This bill had several boating safety peices addressing current needs.

March 16, 2006 - Senate defeats House Bill 162 15-9.
NHRBA will now focus on the many issues on NH lakes and make a positive difference in promoting safety awareness and boater courtesy.

August 23, 2005 - Eagle Island Narrows No Wake Zone is Approved
NHRBA received notification that the NWZ petition between Eagle and Governors island has been approved.

July 19, 2005 - NWZ Petition Hearing Date is set
August 12, 2005 10:00am at the Gilford town hall.

July 8, 2005 - NHRBA Submits Petition for NWZ (No Wake Zone) between Eagle and Governors Island
NHRBA has submitted a petition to put a NWZ zone in between Eagle and Governors Island for safety reasons. This area is probably the most restrictive and high volume traffic area on the lake and 2 boats passing through the 2 markers at the same time are in violation of the 150 ft rule of safe passage. A hearing will be set in August to discuss this.


June 21, 2005 - Hearing Dates for HB162
Official Hearing Dates from the RR&D committee in reference to the House Bill 162 (the speed limit law)

The hearings on HB 162 regarding speed limits on Winnipesaukee have been set for the following times and places:
Each of the three hearings will begin at 7:00 PM.
June 29th. Moultonborough Academy, 25 Blake Road, Moultonborough
July 6th. Kingswood Regional High School, 396 South Main Street, Wolfeboro
July 13th. Gilford High School, 88 Alvah Wilson Road, Gilford.

May 9,2005 - NHRBA's statement on HB162
The majority of NHRBA members feel the HB162 is not the solution to making lake Winnipesaukee safer. Through boater education, outreach programs and awareness programs, NHRBA intends to thoroughly analyze boating concerns on the lake and to make recommendations based on those findings. As the lake has become more popular and with its vastness of enjoyment, NHRBA will maintain focused on promoting legislation that does not discrminate against any boating class.

January 18, 2005 -
The House Resources, Recreation and Development Committee voted to retain the bill voting 11-7 after a vote 9-9 for the "Inexpedient to Legislate" failed.

January 1, 2005 -
NHRBA opens membership to all boaters.
